Additional Programs
In striving to serve the needs of all children who come to the Focus Center, we have several other programs above and beyond our services including:
* Intensive Handwriting Workshops that place children in groups where they can learn from each other, motivate each other, receive peer feedback (which is more powerful than adult feedback) and realize “I’m not the only one struggling with this”.
* Camp Focus is our summer day camp for children ages 3-6. Held at the Center, our camp groups are run by clinical staff and include activities for fine and gross motor skills, language, strength and endurance and socialization.
* Tutoring and Educational Remediation can be given to any child with learning weaknesses or differences. The Orton Gillingham method used at the Center is considered the most effective way to assist children with reading difficulties. Ortin Gillingham uses a multi-sensory approach that supports and reinforces our other therapies.
* Yoga for Children is held in small groups of compatible children (3-4 kids in a group) and can playfully help children learn to slow down, focus, and tap into their creativity, while at the same time increasing strength and flexibility.
