Karen Kovins, SLP
Speech and Language Therapist
Karen is a licensed speech and language pathologist in New Jersey and New York. She received her master's degree in speech-language pathology from New York University.
Karen has worked in the New York City public schools and at the Rose F. Kennedy Center for Developmental Disabilities and Human Development, in the Bronx. She has provided therapy to children from infants to adolescents with a range of developmental disabilities. These included receptive-expressive language impairments, speech sound disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and cognitive deficits. Additionally, she has performed comprehensive speech-language evaluations on infants, toddlers, and school-age children. While at the Rose F. Kennedy Center, Karen also supervised graduate students' planning and implementation of therapy sessions and writing of diagnostic evaluations.
Karen truly enjoys working with children and appreciates the multidisciplinary team approach. She is very excited to be part of the team at the FOCUS center
